WELCOME TO Deaf In Government

DIG's mission is to empower Deaf and Hard of Hearing Government Employees at the local, state and federal levels. We address communication barriers, accessibility issues and promote a full inclusive work environment through networking, fostering professional growth, and career advancement. DIG's website obtains a wealth of resources for deaf and hard of hearing government employees as well as information about upcoming trainings and events. DIG serves as an employee support group for local, state and federal employees who are either Deaf or Hard of Hearing. We are committed to accessibility, networking opportunities, and the advancement of the deaf diaspora community.



DIG is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals nationwide. By providing financial support, you will be helping DIG further continue our influence in local, state, and federal public policy.

June 14 - 16, 2023 - DIG National Training Conference at American University in Washington, DC

  • Registration is OPEN at 2023 National Training Conference
  • Participants will be able earn up to 1.55 CEUs with offerings in the General Studies (GS), Professional Studies (PS) and Power, Privilege and Oppression (PPO) categories. The Certificate Maintenance Program sponsor is the Virginia Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
